Damn its hard to choose. For me its a toss up between, Izaya, That Fire, Speakin Upon a Million and DBA. I think the Izaya record was very well done and could have been as big as 112 back then with the right machine behind it. I like That Fire because it showcases the versatility and quality of Bosko as a true producer and it also puts his highly underrated vocal abilities on display as well. I'm hoping for an all r&b or new era funk record from him in the near future. Speakin Upon a Million to me is the best rap record to come out of Portland so far. Portland rap never had a rap record of that quality until then. The beats and the raps was all on point and had some very memorable tracks on there (Eyez On The Prize, Roll Call, Tech Support, 90 Proof, etc). What can I say about the DBA record? That shit is just slappin from front to back. That was when Portland rap (Jus Family) was really starting to get noticed in other regions besides the NW, as showcased by the guest appearances on it. I woulda never guessed at the time that Portland cats woulda been on songs wit E-40, B Legit and WC. That record really showed what could happen when you network. I think all of those could have done big things if they had the right corporate push behind them. Any time I was in other towns i could slap those and nobody would ever know they was some local records. Oh yeah, and Notoz is the hardest song from Jus Fam ever. I wouldnt mind that Cool Nutz comin back for a track or two.

  1. Cool Nutz-Harsh Game For The People - Solid release I think this was just the tip of the iceberg of what was to come from Jus Faimily
  2. Maniac Lok-I'm Back - Solid release from Maniac Lok & the Tazmanian Devil should have followed up sooner IMO because this is a Classic.
  3. G-Ism-On A Mission - What can I say this was a heated release I wish we could have been blessed with more Young Randall tracks because the chemistry between Ray Ray & Young Randall was awesome.
  4. G-Ism & Kenny Mack-Nuttin But Da Family - Classic Jus Family I been lookin for this one release & haven't seen it in stores in years
  5. Izaya-Da Next - Classic I thought this release could have gone the whole 9 yds
  6. Cool Nutz-Speakin Upon A Million - This really pushed forward the quality of Portland Hip Hop
  7. Cool Nutz-Verbal Porn Vol. 1 or 2 - 1st release was good but that BGosko Remix with April Cason was just killin it that was the track
  8. Various-The Western Conference All Starz - Classic the way this "UNITED PORTALND MC's" & the way it displayed the versatilty of Portland MC's was awesome because it had a little bit of everything.
  9. Bosko-That Fire -
  10. DBA-Doing Business As..... - This right here IMO shut them doubters up about that Jus Family because it was a statement of makin major moves out the 503
  11. Cool Nutz-Dis Niggaz Nutz - Classic Cool Nutz period
  12. Cool Nutz-Playervision b/w Notoz - Classic Jus Family Material Playervision was ahead of it's time for Portland Hip Hop
  13. DJ Chill presents Cool Nutz the Voice of N.E.P. - I am diggin this release because it has some a taste of what is to come from Jus Fam

I can't really narrow down what release from Jus Fam is my favorite release because all releases have something that the other release don't. Keep on doing what you do Cool Nutz.

I say bring out some of them unreleased verses of Young Randall if you have any. Even add some YR to tracks you already have released & have a Remix for them true Portland heads that been jammin Jus Fam since day 1.

Ya need to get Rex James in the studio more often because Arjay need his solo out now he would have been major by now.

A Western Conference All Stars volume 2 would be awesome too

Cool Nutz, i can't pick just one favorite album from Jus Family Records. the one's i heard are tight in their own way.

here are the one's i've heard so far

Cool Nutz - Harsh Game For The People & Speakin Upon A Million
Maniac Lok - I'm Back
G-Izm - On A Mission
Bosko - That Fire
Izaya - Da Next
Various - The Western Conference All Starz

All of those, except Bosko's, i heard the same day. one of the homies back in the day all of sudden got a hold of them albums and let me peep them out and i was feelin them at that time and still feelin them to this day. that was the first time hearin some northwest material, and that was like in 99 or 2000, i duno, somewhere's around there. i have to say that i was stuck on the G-Ism album tho. and still am. and still tryin to get a hold of that album too.

also was feelin that collabos album too.

I'd have to stick with "Harsh Game For The People" as my favorite. I like more of the simple & clean sound. Bosko can produce like a MF but I've always been feeling your tracks a little more....they just seem to flow better for riding the beat like you do. The newer tracks like that Bullet song last year is the kind of stuff I'd like to hear more of....not diss tracks but you know what I mean. A lot of your solo appearences on other projects have that same style and stand out to me. Don't get me wrong....I understand times change and I've adjusted w/ them myself....maybe it's just a tempo thing but it always gets me feelin the music. That's what I'd like to hear more of in the future....and cutting down hooks to like 5 seconds....lol.
